QuickTree and QuickBootstrap
Found under the Commands menu when on the SPlotPage or BootScan pages, this option is available when there are exactly 2 marks set. As currently implemented, QuickTree will generate a Neighbor-Joining tree using the currently-selected distance model. This tree will be saved in the directory from which the sequence data were loaded, to a file with the following name:
"SimPlot QuickTree yyyymmdd_hhmmss.tre"
...where yyyymmdd_hhmmss is the standard SimPlot time stamp
This file will then be opened, if a program has been associated with the ".tre" extension. I suggest TreeView, an excellent program made available without cost by Rod Page at this Internet site:

All of the above comments apply to QuickBootstrap, except that the filename will of course include "QuickBootstrap" instead of "QuickTree", and the file extension will be ".txt" because the output of CONSENSE is a text file. Thus, it will be your default text editor which will be launched when you run QuickBootstrap. Also, QuickBootstrap will use your current setting for bootstrap replicates. Be prepared to wait a long time if you have set bootstrap replicates higher than 100, if you have a lot of sequences, or if you select a large region. I plan to add an indication of QuickBootstrap progress.
